Advieh

Auckland / New Zealand

A project we completed with architects Warren & Mahoney, Techne and project managers RCP for the clients Precinct Properties and Intercontinental Hotel.

We worked closely with WAM in Auckland, Techne from Melbourne and the client Intercontinental Hotel Group to deliver the best results for this prestigious restaurant. Advieh is both hotel restaurant and open to guests from outside. Our design worked in harmony with the  interior design, the materials and features of which tell a story of Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, and surrounding regions in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Knowing the space needed to be flexible for various uses throughout day and night, we added controlled and scene-setting lighting, specifically zoned and aimed with a subtle warm approach. Product – carefully selected for superior form and function – is discreet; hidden within the fabric of the architecture, leaving only its effect on the space.

Of course, aside from food, service, design and fit-out, a very important but often overlooked feature of any restaurant is its lighting. Understanding depth, layering, and colour correlation among many other factors is critical – users of the space won’t know exactly why they love it, just that they do – and great lighting plays a huge role in that.

This project was a finalist in the Best Design Awards 2024 and won Silver.
