One Queen Street

Intercontinental Hotel & Te Kaha Deloitte Centre,
One Queen St, Auckland.
A project we completed with architects Warren & Mahoney and project managers RCP for the client Precinct Properties.
2024 marked the completion and handover of One Queen, no less than seven years in the making.
We were responsible for delivering full-scope specialist lighting for the façade, lobbies, restaurant, guest rooms, corridors, gym and club lounge for this landmark development. We worked closely alongside the architectural plans and aimed for the lighting to seamlessly integrate with the way the space is used. The outcome is timeless: minimalist, yet engaging the senses in an evolution between morning and night.
One of the final stages of the project for us was the InterContinental club lounge. The brief for the lounge was to build on the look and feel of the hotel’s restaurant Advieh which we had previously completed, with additional richer, more exclusive finishes. We wanted to create a sense of theatre – understated, less-is-more. Carefully considered lighting product with precise placement, aim, and ultra low-glare optics helped us achieve our aim.
The outcome on One Queen was particularly rewarding, with creative architecture and specialist lighting working hand in hand to deliver an overall experience that is carefully tailored to the various spaces the project encompasses.
This project was a finalist in the Best Design Awards 2024 and won Gold.
